Detecting the Most Frequent Panic Attacks Symptoms

It's important to understand that a panic disorder is a specific category of anxiety disorder. It becomes characterized by panic attacks, which come out of nowhere. Plus, attacks aren't triggered by an event, situation or other aspect.

Did you know panic disorder can affect anyone? Even though it is seen more in teenagers and young adults, there are older individuals who suffer as well. Plus, women are affected more than men.

Symptoms commonly last anywhere from a few minutes up to half an hour. However, the anxiety that comes with panic disorder can remain for days. Individuals that suffer from panic attacks may have a wide variety of symptoms, but there are some symptoms that tend to appear in all sufferers.

For instance the most common disorder is fear. There is an overwhelming feeling of impending doom or disaster. Honestly, this can be paralyzing, and making it hard for the person to function throughout the day. Some people have this feeling they're going to die during a panic attack.

A lot of this has to deal with the shortness of breath that occurs. When you experience a panic attack, the heart feels like it's pounding so hard it's about to come out of your chest. This can lead to chest pain and the misconception that it's a heart attack.

Panic disorder sufferers will also say they're throat feels like it's closing up. The feeling of no air is nothing to write home about, and the shortness of breath can be quite worrisome.

Another common issue has to deal with involuntary body movements or skin sensations. Also shaking and trembling is a common sign as well. Then again, there are others who have to deal with muscle spasms, twitching, or jerking. There are even times when people feel like their body just takes control. You might even come across itchy and crawly skin, or a burning and numb sensation.

The digestive tract can be disrupted as well. We understand many people go through upset stomachs, but the waves of nausea can eventually lead to vomiting. If this wasn't enough, diarrhea can be present as well. You may experience a taste change as well. While different food will taste different, sometimes it will taste as though they've been exposed to metals or chemicals.

Then of course the senses are affected as well. Your ears may feel clogged, endure muffled sounds, or feel like you're in a tunnel. You could also have to deal with ringing, throbbing or pulsing. When it comes to your vision, this may become distorted or blurry.

These are only a few of the many symptoms an individual comes across when dealing with a panic attack. For instance, you might also come across changes in your skin color, temperature, fainting, pain or sweating, fatigue, changes in the libido, night sweat, or even your weight.

Even though this is an overwhelming thought with so many symptoms, there are effective natural treatments available. Whether it's the use of herbs, aromatherapy, yoga and meditation, or exercise, each one of them can lower your stress levels. Doing so will decrease the chance of a panic attack and help control your panic disorder.

If you don't want to consult with anyone, we will tell you there are a few good self-help books that reduce the overall issues of panic disorder as a whole. It might be your best solution.

Since there is no way of knowing exactly which mode of treatment will work best on each individual patient, it may take a little experimentation to come up with the right one. In some cases, a combination of treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results with panic disorder.
